Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Budapest, Hungary (April 17, 2024)
Location: Budapest
Event: The U.S. Embassy would like to inform you of the following demonstrations planned for Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18.
Wednesday, April 17
4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Around 50 people are expected to gather in front of the building of Ministry and Culture and Innovation in District V to demonstrate about the wage settlement of educators.
Thursday, April 18
6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Around 8,000 people are expected to gather at Pollack Mihaly ter in District VIII to support observing democratic regulations and protecting the historical and cultural value of the former buildings of the Hungarian Radio.
Actions to Take:
Avoid crowds and areas where demonstrators are gathering.
Monitor local media for updates.
Comply with directions from local authorities.
